The Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee has issued an urgent directive warning educational institutions against collecting extra fees from candidates during the form fill-up process for HSC and equivalent supplementary examinations.
The instruction was conveyed through an official notification signed by Professor Jasmine Taslima Banu, Convenor of the Inter-Education Board Examination Controller Committee and Controller of Examinations at the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, on Friday (6 November).
According to the notification, the committee received complaints from various sources indicating that several educational institutions were overcharging students for supplementary examination form fill-ups. In response, the committee explicitly prohibited the collection of any additional fees beyond the fixed rates.
The directive emphasized that strict legal action would be taken against defaulting institutions and their respective heads if the order is violated, urging all HSC-level institutions to comply with the directive with high priority.
