Detainee dies by suicide in jail

A detainee held in a murder case died by suicide at Kashimpur Central Jail-2 in Gazipur on Thursday (November 5), according to the jail authorities.
The deceased, Raju, was the son of Ainal Haque of Bhaolaganj area in Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh. He reportedly hanged himself with a gamcha from a bathroom door inside the prison.
Senior Jail Superintendent Halima Khatun said prison guards found him and rushed him to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination. Following legal formalities, his body was handed over to his relatives.
