Crude bomb explodes outside July Memorial Museum

A cocktail bomb exploded outside the July Memorial Museum in the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area of the capital, formerly known as Ganabhaban, on Wednesday night (November 4). No casualties were reported.

Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) Ibne Mizan confirmed the incident around midnight.

He said a group of miscreants arrived in a rickshaw after 11PM, detonated a cocktail bomb in front of the museum and fled the scene. No one was injured in the explosion, he added.

Earlier, on October 14, miscreants threw two cocktail bombs in succession in front of Gate No. 1 of the July Memorial Museum in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. One exploded, while the other remained unexploded.

Later, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Bomb Disposal Unit took steps to defuse the unexploded device.

In that incident, a CNG-run autorickshaw driver, Md Shaheen alias Arif Molla, 45, was injured after being hit by splinters.
