A video showing a youth displaying eight foreign-made pistols and issuing threats has gone viral on social media, although police said the footage dates back to 2025 and was recently recirculated.
The 21-second video shows eight pistols arranged in a row on a table covered with cloth, while a man known as Hridoy Bullet is heard issuing threats.
Chattogram District Police Superintendent Masud Alam said the video was recorded in 2025 and that police had previously arrested the man. He was recently released on bail and recirculated the old footage through a new Facebook account.
The police official said they were looking into the matter.
The video reportedly resurfaced through a Facebook account named 'Mamun Chairman's Supporters', triggering discussion on social media.
