Jamaat leader Akhtaruzzaman's son stabbed

Shahriar Zaman, 40, the son of Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former MP Major Akhtaruzzaman Ranjan, was stabbed by unidentified assailants in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj on Wednesday (November 4).
The incident took place around 8PM at Gachihata Bazar. Locals rescued Shahriar and took him to Katiadi Upazila Health Complex, where he received initial treatment.
He is being transferred to Dhaka for advanced medical care.
Katiadi Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Syed Md Shahriar said the victim was physically stable but had sustained a major cut injury.
Officer-in-Charge of Katiadi Police Station Mohammad Rafiqul Islam said police had been sent to the scene. The identities of those involved have not yet been established.
