Students from Class Three to Class Twelve will have the opportunity to visit Bangabhaban under a new initiative to familiarise them with the country's state institutions, history and heritage.
The President's Office has formulated the ‘Bangabhaban Visit Policy for Students of Educational Institutions, 2026’ to facilitate the visits.
The Technical and Madrasah Education Division recently sent the policy to relevant educational institutions, instructing them to take necessary steps.
Under the policy, each visit will last one and a half hours. Students will enter Bangabhaban at 10:00 AM on the scheduled day and begin by visiting the Toshakhana Museum, where they will watch a video on the history and activities of Bangabhaban.
They will then be allowed to take photographs in front of the main building and visit the historic air raid shelter and the deer park before completing the tour.
The authorities may change the schedule for security reasons or special state requirements.
Each educational institution can send a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 40 students, accompanied by three to four teachers or designated representatives. Students must wear their respective institution's prescribed uniform.
For security reasons, students and teachers will not be allowed to carry mobile phones, cameras, smartwatches, other electronic devices or bags inside Bangabhaban.
Vehicles carrying the students will not be allowed inside the premises. They must be parked at a designated location, from where students will enter the premises on foot.
Bangabhaban authorities will provide photographs of the visit to the participating educational institutions as souvenirs. Institutions have been asked to bring a pen drive to receive the photographs.
