The medical and dental college admission test for the 2026-27 academic session will not be held on December 4 as scheduled, as the Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME) has decided to postpone the examination.

The revised date for the MBBS and BDS admission test has not yet been fixed, said Prof Dr Rubina Yasmin, additional director general (Medical Education) of the DGME, on Wednesday (November 4).

She said the examination could not be held on the previously scheduled date, adding that a decision on the new date had yet to be made.

A DGME source said the revised schedule may depend on the government's decision on whether students appearing in the HSC and equivalent supplementary examinations would be given the opportunity to compete for higher education admission.

Rubina said the government would decide whether students who pass the supplementary examinations would receive the same admission opportunities as those who have already passed. She added that the medical admission policy had yet to be finalised and the examination would be arranged once the policy was completed.
