The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has initiated steps to form an independent complaints committee comprising non-board members to impartially investigate grievances raised by women cricketers.
The initiative aims to ensure a safe environment where female players can register complaints without fear of intimidation or reluctance, with no current BCB directors included on the panel.
A BCB official confirmed to Cricbuzz on Monday (November 2) that the proposal was discussed during a meeting of the board's working committee at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on October 28.
The official, who serves on the 11-member working committee, noted that while the committee agreed on the necessity of establishing such a body, the proposal remains pending formal ratification at an upcoming board meeting.
Top BCB officials emphasized the importance of engaging external individuals to prevent internal directors or departmental heads from influencing investigations involving staff or personnel operating under their oversight.
By excluding active board members, the proposed committee structure aims to guarantee neutral, fair, and objective inquiries into all allegations submitted by female cricketers.
