Actor Imran Khan is facing legal trouble over his right to stay in India after challenging an order asking him to leave the country.
During a hearing on Monday, the Bombay High Court expressed dissatisfaction with his position and said submitting an affidavit alone would not be enough. The court said he must offer an unconditional apology.
Imran told the court that he had no connection with the organisers of the protest in question. He also agreed to submit an affidavit and requested permission to continue living in India.
However, the bench questioned why he had decided to take part in the protest after living in India for so many years. It also observed that an Indian citizen involved in similar activities abroad would have been sent back on the next flight.
