BNP Standing Committee member and Prime Minister’s Political Adviser Mirza Abbas has accused some party members of sheltering Awami League leaders in exchange for money.
Speaking at a meeting in Dhaka’s Shahjahanpur on Saturday, he warned of strict action against BNP members involved in such activities.
He said some Awami League leaders were returning from India and trying to take shelter in different areas with the help of greedy BNP members.
“Whoever is an enemy of BNP is also my enemy. Inform us if anyone in the party helps them. Immediate action will be taken,” he said.
Abbas warned that attempts to create disorder through alliances with the Awami League would not be tolerated.
He also urged BNP leaders and activists to remain alert, saying the party would firmly resist any wrongdoing.
