ASP forced into retirement over affair

The Home Ministry issued a notification on Saturday (October 31), signed by Senior Secretary of its Discipline-1 Branch Manzur Morshed Chowdhury, under the order of the President.

According to the notification, Mizanur worked in the Tejgaon Traffic Zone of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) from July 14, 2020, to February 6, 2023. He reportedly became acquainted with the woman through Facebook in April 2022 and later became involved in an extramarital relationship with her.

A departmental investigation found the allegations proven and concluded that his conduct had tarnished the image of the police force.

The decision was taken following the recommendation of the Public Service Commission and the President’s approval on October 25.
