Maintaining its tradition of academic excellence, Abdul Kadir Molla City College in Narsingdi has once again delivered outstanding results in this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations, with a pass rate of 99.94 per cent.
Of the 1,552 students who appeared from the institution, 1,551 passed, while 561 secured the highest GPA-5 grade.
The results became known following the publication of the Dhaka Education Board's HSC results at 10am on Saturday (October 31).
According to the college administration, students from all three groups-science, business studies and humanities achieved impressive results.
In the science group, 1,058 students appeared, of whom 394 secured GPA-5. In business studies, 69 out of 180 candidates achieved GPA-5, while 98 out of 311 students in the humanities group secured the highest grade.
Both the business studies and humanities groups recorded a 100 per cent pass rate.
College authorities said one student could not attend the examination due to illness, preventing the institution from achieving a 100 per cent overall pass rate.
Shoaib Hossain, a GPA-5 achiever from the science group, said he had stayed at the college hostel during his studies.
"Our teachers and guardians worked tirelessly and monitored us throughout. Their support made it possible for us to achieve such good results," he said.
College Principal Herem Ullah Ahsan said the institution had taken several initiatives to ensure students' academic success.
"Under the direct guidance of our governing body chairman Abdul Kadir Molla, we arranged regular classes, special classes, home visits, tutorials, monthly examinations and continuous supervision through guide teachers. The students, teachers and everyone involved worked extremely hard," he said.
He added that the college narrowly missed a 100 per cent pass rate because one student fell ill and could not participate in the examinations.
College founder and Governing Body President Abdul Kadir Molla expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah, saying, "This achievement does not belong to the college alone; it is an achievement for the people of Narsingdi."
A Legacy of Academic Excellence
Established in 2006, Abdul Kadir Molla City College has maintained a strong record of academic performance since its inception.
In its first HSC results in 2008, the college achieved a pass rate of 99 per cent. In 2009, it secured a 100 per cent pass rate, ranking fifth under the Dhaka Education Board and sixth nationwide.
The institution ranked fourth under the Dhaka Board in 2010 and seventh in 2011.
In 2012, 2013 and 2014, the college achieved a 100 per cent pass rate and secured second position under the Dhaka Education Board as well as nationally.
Although education boards subsequently discontinued publishing rankings of top-performing institutions, the college authorities say it has continued to maintain its strong academic record from 2015 to 2025.
This year's results, featuring a 99.94 per cent pass rate and 561 GPA-5 achievers, further reinforce the institution's reputation for academic excellence
