11 hr power outage in several areas today

The information was announced in separate notices issued by the respective Palli Bidyut Samities and electricity distribution authorities on Friday (October 30).

Natore Palli Bidyut Samity-2 said maintenance work and tree branch trimming would be carried out on feeders 6, 7 and 8 under the Baraigram-1 (Bonpara) substation.

As a result, electricity supply will remain suspended from 7:00am to 6:00pm in Kalikapur, Fazlitola, Ahmedpur Bazar, Par Ahmedpur, Kayem Kola, Khudda Kachutia, Kumrul, Brikachutia, Bhabanipur, Ramagari, Kamardaha, Atgharia, Switchgate, Hat Gobindapur and Sheikh Para.

However, the schedule may change depending on the progress of the work.

According to Md Julfikar Ali, residential engineer of NESCO's Shibganj electricity supply office in Chapainawabganj, power supply in Shibganj will remain suspended from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM to facilitate the trimming of tree branches near a 33kV power line.

The Bangladesh Power Development Board's Sylhet Sales and Distribution Division-1 said electricity supply would remain suspended from 8:00am to 11:00am in several areas under the Lakatura 33/11kV substation for emergency maintenance, repairs and tree branch trimming.

The affected areas include Kakuripara, Airport Police Station area, Baishatila, Osmani Airport Express, Dhopagul, Bonoshree, Badambagicha (partial), Paharika, Boro Bazar and areas under the Lakatura Stadium feeder.

Other affected localities include Lakatura Bazar, Muslim Para, Malnichhara, Banshbari Alley, Rupsha Residential Area, Khasdobir, Boro Bazar, Faridabad, Silver City, Keowachhara, Hiluachhara Tea Garden, Dhopagul, Mahalodik, Umdarpara, Alaibohor, Lilapara, Dapnatila, Saheber Bazar, Kalagul, Lalbagh, Pirergaon, Chhalia, Rangitila and Salutiker Ghat, along with surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, electricity supply under the Ambarkhana 33/11kV substation will remain suspended from 11:00 AM to 4:00pm.

The affected areas under the IGD Overhead Feeder include Ambarkhana Mosque, Dattapara, Ambarkhana Government Colony, Mazumdari, Kamala Bagan, Probati, East Pir Mahalla, Housing Estate, Faridabad Residential Area and nearby localities.

The electricity supply division of WZPDCL in Maheshpur, Jhenaidah, said repair and maintenance work would be carried out at the 33/11kV Maheshpur substation, along with the trimming of tree branches touching power lines.

Consequently, electricity supply in Maheshpur will remain suspended from 8:00am to 4:00pm.

Power supply may be restored earlier than scheduled if the work is completed ahead of time.

The Shibpur Zonal Office of Narsingdi Palli Bidyut Samity-2 said power lines would be relocated as part of the expansion work on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway and the Itakhola-Mathkhola Regional Highway.

For this reason, electricity supply in different areas under the 11kV lines of Shibpur upazila will remain suspended from 8:00am to 7:00pm.

The affected areas include Kharia, Bajnab, Itakhola, Syednagar, Banyar Bazar, Gobindi, Telia, Kumradi, Purandia, Baraialgi, Jamtala, Palpara, Borkanda, Brahmandi, Shashpur, Chandandia, Hijlia, Trisha, Noadia, Lampur, Chandpasha, Itna, Khainkut, Shankhola, Kharkmara, Ghashirdia, Kundarpara, Shrifulia, Birajnagar, Joymangal, Kutuber Tek and Holuder Tek, along with surrounding localities.

The WZPDCL electricity supply division in Gopalganj said power supply could be disrupted intermittently in several areas from 9:00am to 5:00pm due to emergency maintenance work.

In particular, electricity may remain unavailable for one hour at a time in Arambagh, Nichupara, Gullibari Mor, Nabinbag, Medical College and Tegharia.

The respective electricity distribution authorities said power supply might be restored ahead of schedule upon completion of the work. They also expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience caused to consumers.
