Septic tank explosion kills one

A man was killed in a septic tank explosion at a rented house in Naojor, Gazipur, on Friday morning.

The explosion occurred around 7:15 AM on the ground floor of an under-construction three-storey building, damaging the doors and windows of a room.

The deceased, identified as Sakib, lived there with several garment workers. He died on the spot after being severely injured in the blast.

Rajib Hossain, warehouse inspector at Gazipur Chowrasta Modern Fire Service, confirmed the incident. He said the body was recovered and handed over to Basan Police Station.

Sakib was from Bauphal upazila of Patuakhali.
