The second meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Defence of the 13th National Parliament was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Thursday.

The meeting took place at 3:00 PM in the Cabinet Room on Level 2 of the West Block of the parliament building, with committee chairman Engineer Md Ashraf Uddin in the chair. Members of the committee attended the meeting.

The meeting held detailed discussions on the overall activities of the defence sector and its future work plans.

The chairman and members were briefed on the overall activities, ongoing projects and progress of Bangladesh Ordnance Factories (BOF), the Directorate of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) and the Directorate General of Defence Purchase (DGDP).

Following the discussions, the committee issued necessary directives to the concerned authorities to enhance the capabilities of the organisations, modernise their operations and ensure transparency and efficiency in carrying out their activities.
