Fourteen individuals will receive the National Youth Awards 2026 in recognition of their outstanding contributions in various fields.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque announced the decision at a press conference held at the ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat on Thursday.
This year’s celebration will be held under the theme, “Skilled Youth Will Build the Nation, Bangladesh for All.” The award recipients include four youth organisers and 10 successful self-employed entrepreneurs.
The main inauguration ceremony will take place at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre on the morning of November 1. The state minister said the President had agreed to attend the event as the chief guest.
As part of the day’s programmes, the government will launch an initiative to establish 12,000 renewable energy-based and environmentally friendly biogas plants across the country to help address the energy crisis, Aminul said.
A job fair featuring 55 reputed organisations will also be held on November 1 to expand employment opportunities for young people. The initiative is expected to create around 5,000 job opportunities in phases, while at least 100 candidates will receive jobs on the spot during the fair, the state minister said.
A colourful youth rally will be organised on October 31, starting from the Bangladesh Shishu Academy premises, as part of the celebrations.
