Cyclone Arnab has weakened after crossing the coast of India's Andhra Pradesh, but its effects are expected to bring rain and gusty winds to several parts of Bangladesh over the next 24 hours, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.
In its five-day forecast issued on Wednesday (October 28), the meteorological department said many areas of Khulna Division could experience rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally winds until Thursday evening (October 29).
Some areas of Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions may also experience similar weather conditions.
The department said the cyclone had moved west-northwest and crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast on Wednesday morning. It was located over land as a cyclonic storm and was expected to move further northwest while gradually weakening into a low-pressure area.
Daytime temperatures across the country may fall by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures could also decrease slightly.
