Wife dies after husband’s slap over family feud

A housewife allegedly died after her husband slapped her during a family dispute in Singra upazila of Natore.

The incident took place on Monday afternoon in Notun Bosti area of Hatiandaha union.

The deceased identified as Purnima Khatun, died while undergoing treatment at Natore Sadar Hospital later that night.

According to local sources, Purnima had an argument with her husband, Rashedul Islam, over a family dispute on Monday afternoon.

At one stage, Rashedul allegedly slapped her hard, leaving her ill. She was subsequently admitted to Natore Sadar Hospital, where she died later that night.

Officer-in-Charge of Singra Police Station Rafiqul Islam said, he had heard about the incident but had not yet received any written complaint.

He said, necessary legal action would be taken after an investigation if a complaint was filed.
