Debris from intercepted ballistic missiles launched by Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels fell across several areas in the Makkah and Medina regions on Saturday, according to Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense Authority.

Saudi authorities confirmed no immediate casualties from the incident, while the Houthis denied targeting Islam's two holiest cities despite claiming multiple strikes across Saudi territory.

Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense Directorate posted on X that debris from two intercepted Houthi ballistic missiles landed in parts of the Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Medina Al-Munawwarah regions.

The agency stated that fragments fell in Wadi Mughamas outside Makkah, the Al-Nuzha neighborhood in Jeddah, Wadi Jalil in Taif, and an uninhabited location in Rabigh.

However, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree rejected allegations of targeting the holy cities, calling reports of attacks on Makkah and Medina false propaganda.

Earlier on Saturday, Saudi Civil Defense issued safety alerts across four western provinces, including Makkah, instructing residents to seek shelter in safe locations.

Hours prior to the alert, the Houthis claimed responsibility for targeting three Saudi airports, two oil facilities, an oil pipeline, and an airbase on Friday and Saturday.

Yahya Saree claimed Houthi forces launched two strikes against King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, alongside attacks on airports in Dammam and Najran, the Khamis Mushait airbase, and East-West oil pipeline infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Yemen's Saudi-backed government reported that Houthi forces fired three ballistic missiles targeting coast guard installations in the southern port city of Aden, further threatening the UN-brokered ceasefire established in 2022.
