Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh has demanded that the government uphold its decision to bar Saad followers from using the Tongi Bishwa Ijtema ground and expedite investigations into two murder cases filed over incidents in 2018 and 2024.

The demands were raised at a consultation meeting chaired by Hefazat Ameer Allama Shah Muhibbullah Babunagari at the Ijtema ground on Saturday (October 24).

The meeting was informed that the cases are being investigated by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI).

Hefazat leaders warned of district-level programmes if pressure was exerted on the government over the issue or disorder erupted.
