Tollywood actress Koel Mallick took part in the traditional Sindoor Khela on Bijoya Dashami with a heavy heart as she bid farewell to Goddess Durga.
Dressed in a traditional white sari with a red border, a matching red blouse, and elegant gold jewelry, the actress looked stunning during the festivities. She actively participated in the ritual of Debi Baran and Sindoor Khela alongside her family members at the historic Mallick family Durga Puja in Bhowanipore.
The Durga Puja at the Mallick house is renowned for its blend of tradition and family bonding. As the daughter of the household, Koel remained active in various rituals throughout the festival. On Dashami, after bidding an emotional farewell to the goddess, she joined other women of the family in the customary Sindoor Khela.
Her festive look highlighted classical tradition, complete with a neatly tied bun and refined jewelry. Apart from celebrating the occasion, the actress also extended her warm Bijoya greetings to her fans through social media.
In a video message, Koel shared, "Today is a sad day. However, we console ourselves by saying, 'Asche bochor abar hobe' (The Goddess will return next year). Wishing everyone a Happy Bijoya Dashami. May everyone stay well, happy, and spread joy to others."
Koel was seen actively involved in the family celebrations from the very first day of the puja. During Ashtami, she participated in Anjali and other rituals alongside her husband Nispal Singh Rane and their two children, Kabir and Kabya. Senior members of the family, including veteran actor Ranjit Mallick and his wife, were also present throughout the events.
On Dashami, Koel completed the final farewell rituals with her family. Following the Devi Baran with betel leaves, nuts, and sweets, the women touched each other's forehead and vermilion line with Sindoor to complete the age-old ritual.
For Koel, Durga Puja is not merely a festival, but a special occasion to remain connected to her roots. Despite her busy acting schedule, spending quality time with her family during the festival has always been a top priority.
This year was no exception, as the warmth of family tradition shone brightly at the Mallick household on Dashami.
