South Korean tech giant Samsung has launched the latest generation of its Galaxy SmartTag, featuring significant upgrades in size, battery life, and location-tracking precision.
The updated tracking device is approximately 35 per cent smaller and lighter than its predecessor, making it easier to attach to keychains, bags, and other personal items.
According to manufacturer details, the device boasts an extended battery life, lasting up to 550 days in standard mode on a single battery, and up to 790 days in power-saving mode.
The new model integrates Bluetooth 6.0 and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, enabling supported smartphones to determine the precise location and direction of lost items within a range of up to 60 meters under optimal conditions.
Additionally, the smart tracking tag carries an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, offering protection against short-term immersion in water. It also features a new physical button for expanded functionality.
In the United States market, the single Galaxy SmartTag is priced at 29.99 US dollars, while a four-pack set is available for 99.99 US dollars. Official pricing and availability for the local market are yet to be announced.
