Hindu devotees immersed around 48 Durga idols in the Punarbhaba River on Bijoya Dashami, marking the grand conclusion of the annual five-day Durga Puja festival.

Accompanied by traditional music and dancing, processions carrying the idols from various urban neighborhoods gathered at Modern More in the afternoon before heading to the riverbanks for immersion.

Local political figures set up separate greeting booths along the procession route to send off the devotees. Syed Jahangir Alam, Member of Parliament for the Sadar constituency, greeted the procession alongside party activists and supporters at Nimtala More.

Meanwhile, Bakhtiar Ahmed Kachi, General Secretary of the district BNP committee, led a separate group of party leaders and activists at Modern More to welcome and bid farewell to the devotees.

During the event, organizers distributed approximately 40,000 bottles of mineral water to the participating devotees and procession members.

To ensure a peaceful and orderly immersion process, law enforcement agencies implemented strict security measures, deploying personnel from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) alongside police patrols at major intersections.
