Train services on the up line from Chattogram to Dhaka were disrupted after the engine and three coaches of the Karnaphuli Commuter derailed near Naoti Station in Laksam, Cumilla, on Wednesday (October 21).
The derailment occurred around 12:40PM in the outer area of Naoti Station as the train was heading towards Dhaka from Chattogram.
However, train services on the down line remained normal. No casualties were reported, but passengers faced severe disruption and delays in reaching their destinations.
Railway officials said a relief train would begin the recovery operation after reaching the spot. Services on the affected up line would remain suspended until the recovery work was completed.
