Yemen’s armed forces claimed to have “neutralized” around 200 Houthi fighters and destroyed or damaged 90 military vehicles and pieces of equipment in 744 strikes over 24 hours as government forces intensified their offensive across multiple fronts.
Colonel Majed al-Nuzaily, a spokesman for the Yemeni armed forces, said the strikes were carried out under Operation Dawn of Yemen, targeting Houthi command centres, fortified positions, firing sites, troop concentrations and supply routes.
According to al-Nuzaily, the operations involved warplanes, drones, field artillery, rocket launchers and sniper units. He said government forces had intensified their offensive in Taiz and continued coordinated operations on the eastern, southern and western fronts to restrict Houthi movements and reinforcements.
The spokesman said the military was targeting legitimate military objectives and taking precautions to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure. The reported casualty and damage figures could not be independently verified.
The latest announcement followed a previous claim on Monday that government forces had conducted 1,164 strikes in 24 hours, “neutralizing” 558 Houthi fighters, including field commanders, and destroying or damaging 135 military vehicles and pieces of equipment.
