India has strongly protested proposals concerning the country adopted by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), accusing the bloc of politicising regional disputes and aligning itself with Pakistan’s position on Jammu and Kashmir.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs criticised the OIC’s position, arguing that its references to India amounted to interference in the country’s internal affairs. New Delhi also reiterated its claim over Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, rejecting what it considers external attempts to internationalise the dispute.
The diplomatic exchange underscores the persistent geopolitical divide between India and Pakistan over Kashmir, with the OIC’s statements adding another dimension to the broader regional contest over diplomatic support and international legitimacy.
