Arsenal beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 at the City Ground, with substitute Noni Madueke scoring the only goal 10 minutes from time.
Arsenal had Kai Havertz, Martin and Bukayo Saka in a strong attack. But they could not break down Forest's resistance for a long time. England forward Madueke finally rescued the Gunners from the bench.
It was Arsenal's sixth win in seven matches. They had 74 per cent possession but struggled to create chances. They had only one shot on target in the whole match, and scored from it.
Madueke came on at half-time. He was recently dropped from the England squad. He scored 10 minutes before the end. Rice's pass set it up. Madueke cut in from the left, and his powerful shot hit Jair Cunha and went into the net.
That goal was enough for three points. The win lifted Arsenal to second in the Premier League table, three points behind Manchester City.
