The Supreme Court on Wednesday passed a 'no order' on a High Court order that allowed three Indian TV channels-Star Jalsha, Star Plus and Zee Bangla-to continue their telecast in Bangladesh.
Appellate Division Chamber Judge Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain passed the 'no order' while hearing a petition filed challenging the HC order.
Following the SC order, there is no bar to continuation of the three Indian TV channels' airing in the country.
Eklas Uddin Bhuiya, a counsel for the petitioner, said the court asked for filing a leave-to-appeal petition before the court.
Earlier on February 20, a petition was filed with the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order that rejected a writ petition seeking a ban on airing three Indian TV channels-Star Jalsha, Star Plus and Zee Bangla-in Bangladesh.
The HC passed its order rejecting the writ on January 29.     ?UNB
