Chelsea thrashed Bournemouth 5-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with 36-year-old midfielder Jordan Henderson scoring twice and providing an assist.
Henderson opened the scoring after just 65 seconds, finishing a pass from Cole Palmer. He then set up Morgan Rogers to double Chelsea’s lead within three minutes.
According to Opta, only Emile Heskey had previously recorded a goal and an assist faster in Premier League history.
Joao Pedro scored Chelsea’s third goal just 30 seconds into the second half, following a pass from Pedro Neto. Evanilson pulled one back for Bournemouth in the 51st minute, but Pedro restored Chelsea’s three-goal lead in the 67th minute.
Henderson then sealed his memorable performance with a superb free-kick goal, becoming Chelsea’s oldest player to contribute directly to three goals in a Premier League match at 36 years and 115 days.
