Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu has objected to the way a viral video of her interaction with paparazzi was presented on social media, clarifying that questioning photographers’ presence outside a Mumbai studio did not mean she was angry with them.
The incident took place on Thursday (October 8), when Bipasha was spotted outside a studio. She did not stop to pose for the cameras and instead asked who had called the photographers. The interaction subsequently sparked speculation online that she was upset with the paparazzi.
A paparazzi page later shared the video with background music that appeared to suggest the actress had lost her temper. Objecting to the presentation, Bipasha took to her Instagram Stories to explain her reaction.
“Please tell me what is this background music? Someone is going to work and likes to be on time, but just because we question your presence doesn't mean I am angry,” she wrote, adding that the video had conveniently omitted her thanking the photographers before leaving.
She also clarified that she had no issues with paparazzi, noting that most of them had always treated her respectfully. The actress's response was reported by Indian media outlets, including NDTV.
Meanwhile, Bipasha is preparing to return to the screen with filmmaker Hansal Mehta's upcoming crime thriller series Barabanki. The series, set in 1984, is based on the book The Barabanki Narcos: Busting India's Most Notorious Drug Cartel by retired Indian Police Service officer Aloke Lal. Reports say she has begun shooting for the project.
Bipasha's last feature film was the 2015 horror thriller Alone, in which she starred alongside her husband, Karan Singh Grover. The couple later appeared together in the 2020 crime thriller series Dangerous. They married in 2016 and welcomed their daughter in 2022.
