
Power supply will remain suspended for up to six and a half hours in several areas of Rajshahi on Thursday (October 8) for emergency maintenance work.
Northern Electricity Supply PLC (NESCO) announced the schedule in a notice issued by the executive engineer’s office of its Rajshahi Airport Sales and Distribution Division on Wednesday (October 7).
According to the notice, power supply will be suspended in phases in several areas under the division to allow branches of trees near power lines to be trimmed ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja.
From 7:30am to 10:30am, power supply will remain suspended for three hours in East Baghata, Pillapara, Mathura, Sahapara and adjacent areas under the 11kV Suryapur feeder.
Power supply will then remain suspended from 10:30am to 2pm for three and a half hours in Mathura, Sahapara, Suryapur, Bargachhi, Itaghati and surrounding areas.
However, power supply will be restored immediately if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule.
NESCO authorities expressed regret to customers in the affected areas for the temporary inconvenience and said the work was necessary to ensure uninterrupted power services.
