South Asian Scholars’ School and College observed World Teachers’ Day 2026 with a range of programmes highlighting the contribution of teachers and the importance of upholding the dignity of the teaching profession.
The institution observed the day on October 5 in line with this year’s theme, “Standing with teachers: 60 years of protecting the profession, advancing its status and shaping our future.”
Principal Farhana Reza, along with the teachers and students, paid tribute to educators worldwide and expressed gratitude for their contribution to society. Students welcomed their teachers to the campus with greetings as part of the celebration.
The programme included a cake-cutting ceremony and a “Teacher of the Month” award presentation recognising educators for their dedication and contribution to the institution.
Principal Farhana Reza and Director Noor-e-Alam Azad presented certificates of appreciation to the selected teachers during the ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Farhana Reza said teachers have a lasting role in shaping individuals and society by spreading knowledge and guiding students towards the right path.
“Ideal teachers sow the seeds of patience, humanity and patriotism in our hearts, enabling us to learn how to live in this world with dignity,” she said.
The principal also stressed the need to uphold the professional dignity of teachers, saying respect for educators should go beyond ceremonial observances.
According to her, ensuring teachers’ dignity requires continuous efforts and everyday practice rather than being limited to a single day of celebration.
