
A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck Chamoli in India’s Uttarakhand on Tuesday night, with tremors also felt in Delhi and surrounding areas.
The earthquake occurred at around 10:20pm local time.
The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) confirmed the earthquake at around 10:40pm.
Soon after the tremor, several people took to social media to ask whether others had also felt the shaking.
A social media user from the Safdarjung area of south Delhi said they felt the tremor and noticed their sofa moving.
No immediate reports of casualties or major damage were mentioned in the report.
