A Bangladeshi expatriate, Md Sajib Hossain, 26, was killed in a missile/drone attack on an Aramco facility in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province, the Foreign Ministry said on Monday (October 5).

According to a ministry press release, the attack took place on October 4 in the Al Khurais area and was carried out with missiles/drones launched by the Houthis. Sajib, a resident of Cumilla, died in the attack.

The Foreign Ministry expressed deep shock and sorrow over his death and strongly condemned the attack. It also conveyed condolences to his bereaved family and relatives.

The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh has already contacted Sajib’s family members and employer and is providing necessary assistance, the ministry said.

The embassy is also coordinating with the relevant Saudi authorities to complete the formalities and arrange for the repatriation of his body to Bangladesh.
