Microbiology Alumni Association gets new executive committee

The Microbiology Alumni Association of the University of Dhaka has formed a 21-member executive committee for a two-year term, with M. A. Baten as president and Dr M. Ziaur Rahman as general secretary.

The new committee was formed on October 3, 2026, to strengthen the association and promote greater cooperation, communication and professional networking among former students of the Department of Microbiology of the University of Dhaka.

M. A. Baten, CEO of InterScience Technologies, will serve as president of the association, while Dr M. Ziaur Rahman, a senior scientist and head of One Lab at icddr,b, will serve as general secretary.

The newly formed committee will work for the next two years to further strengthen the association, foster professional and academic collaboration among its members and create opportunities for networking and engagement among alumni of the department.

The association expressed its commitment to working collectively for the development of its members and strengthening ties among graduates of the Department of Microbiology.
