India defeated Pakistan by 19 runs in the men’s T20 cricket final of the Asian Games 2026 on Saturday (October 3), successfully defending their gold medal.
Batting first at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, India posted 211-6 in 20 overs, with Abhishek Sharma scoring 61 off 28 balls and Tilak Varma remaining unbeaten on 51 off 22 balls.
Pakistan made a strong reply through Hasan Nawaz, who hit 96 off 51 balls, but could manage 192-6 from their 20 overs. India’s bowlers held their nerve in the final stages to secure the victory.
The win gave India a second successive Asian Games gold medal in men’s cricket, while Pakistan settled for silver.
