Gulistan-Fulbaria bus terminal to move to Chunkutia within 3-month

The Gulistan-Fulbaria inter-district bus terminal will be relocated to Chunkutia in Keraniganj within the next three months as part of a government initiative to ease chronic traffic congestion in the capital, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed on Saturday.

The move is part of a broader plan to separate bus terminals from depots, with authorities seeking to reduce congestion around major terminal areas in Dhaka.

Bus owners' association leaders visited a newly allocated site at the Mohakhali bus terminal on Saturday. The authorities subsequently handed over space capable of accommodating around 80 buses.

Representatives of the bus owners' association said the government was giving high priority to tackling traffic congestion around bus terminals in the capital.

Speaking during the visit, the DMP commissioner said the government was working to separate bus depots from passenger terminals.
