Bangladesh conceded six goals in the first half against Indonesia in Jakarta on Thursday (October 1), with Shahriar Emon scoring the visitors’ only goal as the hosts took a 6-1 lead.
Indonesia took the lead in the 11th minute through Mitchell Bakker after Ole Romeny created the chance from the right.
Romeny was involved again in Indonesia’s second goal in the 20th minute. His shot was saved by Bangladesh goalkeeper Mehedi Hasan Shrabon, but Bakker followed up to score from the rebound.
Rizky Ridho made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute, finishing from the edge of the box after another move involving Romeny.
Bangladesh pulled one back in the 36th minute when Shahriar Emon headed home from Shuki ITOFUSA’s cross.
However, Bakker completed his hat-trick a minute later, scoring from Romeny’s cross to restore Indonesia’s three-goal advantage.
Bakker scored his fourth goal in the 43rd minute from a cross by Justin Hubner to make it 5-1.
Indonesia added a sixth goal in first-half stoppage time, with Hubner heading home from Calvin’s corner.
Bangladesh, who had already lost their first two matches in the FIFA ASEAN Cup, are playing their final match of the tournament against Indonesia in Jakarta.
