Light rain and thunderstorms are likely in Dhaka and adjoining areas from afternoon to evening on Thursday, with the daytime temperature expected to fall slightly.
According to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s six-hour forecast issued at 1PM, the sky may remain cloudy while winds could blow from the south and southeast at 10-15 kilometres per hour.
Dhaka recorded a temperature of 34.5°C at noon, with 50 per cent humidity. No rainfall was recorded in the previous six hours.
The capital recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2°C on Wednesday, while Thursday’s minimum temperature was 27.3°C.
The Met Office said there is no warning signal for the country’s inland river ports from 9AM to 6PM on Thursday.
