Fugitive Agrani Bank cash officer arrested in Dhaka

Police have arrested Md Sharifuzzaman Sohag, a fugitive cash officer of Agrani Bank Limited’s Srinagar branch, in connection with a case involving the alleged embezzlement of customers’ money.

He was arrested around 9PM on Tuesday in the Paikpara area of Mirpur-1 in the capital.

A special team of the Munshiganj District Police Detective Branch (DB) and Srinagar Police Station conducted a joint operation and arrested Sohag.

Police said he had been on the run in connection with the case involving the alleged misappropriation of customers’ funds.
