With a commitment to expanding financial inclusion and building a cashless, digital economy in Bangladesh, Mobile Financial Services (MFS) provider TeleCash Limited has officially commenced its commercial operations.
A subsidiary of Southeast Bank PLC, TeleCash Limited received final approval from Bangladesh Bank on September 24, 2026, to commence its commercial services. To mark the milestone, an inauguration ceremony was held on September 29, 2026, at the head office of Southeast Bank PLC in Dhaka.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. M. A. Kashem, Hon’ble Chairman and Founder Chairman of Southeast Bank PLC and former President of FBCCI, as the Chief Guest. Mr. Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TeleCash Limited, attended as the Special Guest.
Also present were Mr. Md. Khalid Mahmud Khan, Managing Director & CEO of Southeast Bank PLC, and Mr. A.K.M. Monirul Islam, Acting Managing Director of TeleCash Limited, along with members of the boards of directors and senior officials of both organizations.
Speaking at the event, Mr. M. A. Kashem, Chairman of Southeast Bank PLC, said, “The commencement of TeleCash Limited’s journey is a landmark step towards strengthening financial inclusion in Bangladesh and taking digital financial services to a new height. As the parent bank, Southeast Bank is committed to providing TeleCash with the necessary strategic support and guidance so that it can deliver safe, convenient and innovative financial solutions to the people.”
Mr. Nasir Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of TeleCash Limited, said, “The formal launch of TeleCash marks an important milestone in our commitment to advancing digital financial services in the country. By leveraging the experience and support of Southeast Bank, we are committed to building a secure, reliable and customer-centric MFS platform that will contribute meaningfully to the sustainable growth of the country’s digital economy.”
At the event, Mr. A.K.M. Monirul Islam, Acting Managing Director of TeleCash Limited, outlined the company’s business strategy and objectives. He said, “TeleCash does not aspire to be merely another MFS brand in the market; rather, we aim to build a trusted platform by combining technological excellence, risk-conscious operations and sound corporate governance.”
He further said that, guided by its commitment, “Secure Transactions, Instantly,” TeleCash’s core objective is to make Bangla QR-based digital transactions easier and more affordable for customers.
Mr. Md. Khalid Mahmud Khan, Managing Director & CEO of Southeast Bank PLC, expressed optimism about building a strong digital financial ecosystem by leveraging the bank’s institutional capabilities.
