Thalapathy Vijay launches gold ring initiative for newborn babies

The initiative, titled "Thai Maman Thanga Mothiram Thittam" (Maternal Uncle's Gold Ring Scheme), was officially launched by the Chief Minister on Monday (September 28) at the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai, where he personally presented gold rings to newborns.

The scheme draws its name from the traditional Tamil cultural practice where the "Thai Maman" (maternal uncle) gifts the newborn during the "Thai Maman Sheer" ceremony.

Beyond the monetary incentive, the state government outlined that the primary objectives of the initiative are to celebrate childbirth, honor motherhood, and encourage families to utilize public healthcare facilities for institutional deliveries.
