Mirpur clinic declared free of occupation as original signboard restored

The Radda MCH-FP Centre in the capital's Mirpur has been declared free of an alleged occupation, with the clinic’s original signboard put BNP leaders and clinic representatives removed a signboard that had been installed at the facility begun to restore parts of the clinic damaged during the incident. 

Despite the ongoing repairs, medical back in place on Monday, days after the facility was attacked, vandalised and looted.

Repair work has also begun to restore parts of the clinic damaged during the incident. Despite the ongoing repairs, medical services have not been suspended.

Health workers continued treating patients inside the clinic, while some services were also being provided using chairs and tables set up outside the facility.

The incident took place shortly after midnight on September 24 at the Radda MCH-FP Centre in Section 1 of Mirpur.

Clinic authorities alleged that after the attack, a signboard bearing the name of “Sammona Dokandar Samabaya Samity Limited” was installed on the premises.

Police have so far arrested nine people in connection with the attack. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) also said that two truckloads of looted goods had been recovered.

Following the incident, Shah Ali Police Station OC Jahangir Alam was withdrawn from his post.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the attack, looting and vandalism.
