Idhika Pal to star opposite Jeet After Shakib, Dev

West Bengal actress Idhika Pal is set to star opposite Tollywood superstar Jeet in an upcoming film, according to reports by several West Bengal media outlets. The film is expected to be produced by SK Movies, although an official announcement is yet to be made.

Idhika, who previously worked in television serials in West Bengal, rose to prominence in 2023 after starring opposite Shakib Khan in Himel Ashraf’s Priyotoma. She later reunited with Shakib in Borbaad.

Following her two films with Shakib, Idhika went on to work with Dev in Khadaan and Raghu Dakat. She has also appeared alongside other leading Tollywood actors, including Soham Chakraborty.

The actress recently completed shooting for Srijit Mukherji’s Queen Victoria and Goenda Kanai Charon, in which she worked with Jisshu Sengupta for the first time.

In a recent podcast interview, Idhika revealed that her family initially did not support her decision to pursue acting as a career. Her father, who worked as a junior technician in the Bengali film industry, had witnessed the uncertainty of working in films and wanted his daughter to pursue a regular nine-to-five job.

Idhika said she asked her father to give her one year to prove herself in acting. Her career has since progressed rapidly, with opportunities to work alongside several major stars.

Speaking about commercial cinema, Idhika said she believes Bengali commercial films still have a large audience, particularly outside major cities. She expressed interest in working with acclaimed directors on different kinds of films but said she particularly enjoys commercial cinema made for mainstream audiences.

Discussing her experience of working with Shakib Khan, Dev and Jisshu Sengupta, Idhika said all three are highly serious about their work and make strong efforts to ensure the success of their projects. She added that working with them had been a valuable learning experience as a newcomer.

Idhika may also reunite with Shakib Khan in Mehdi Hasan’s upcoming film, although no official announcement has been made yet.
