5 students suffer burn wounds from electrocution in N'ganj

Five students were burned after being electrocuted while playing on the rooftop of a madrasa in Fatullah, Narayanganj, on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred at the Kashipur Hajipara Mahela Khatun Madrasa in Fatullah, police said.
According to police, several students had gone to the roof of the madrasa’s four-storey building. At one point, a sugarcane stick they were carrying came into contact with a nearby 33,000-volt power line, triggering a loud electrical spark and fire.
Five students on the rooftop suffered burn injuries in the incident.
Madrasa teachers and local residents rescued the injured students and took them to a nearby hospital.
After receiving initial treatment, they were referred to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for better treatment.
