PM returns home today following successful UN visit

The Prime Minister’s Deputy Press Secretary, Hasan Shipul, confirmed the development to state news agency BSS.

Flight EK-582, carrying the Prime Minister, his wife Dr. Zubaida Rahman, and the accompanying delegation, departed Dubai International Airport at 2:15 AM (Dubai time) and is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:40 AM.

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman departed New York on September 25 after delivering his maiden address at the UNGA General Debate and attending a series of high-level diplomatic engagements.

During his four-day schedule in New York, the Prime Minister participated in 30 official events, including eight UNGA-related sessions, four high-level sideline events, and 11 bilateral meetings with heads of state and international organizations, according to Mahdi Amin, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office.

The bilateral discussions focused on core national priorities, including trade and investment, manpower export, energy security, regional cooperation, the Rohingya crisis, public health, climate change, and international peacekeeping.

Dr. Zubaida Rahman also engaged in eight high-level events during the visit, delivering key addresses at four major platforms, including the UNGA Platform of Women Leaders, the First Spouses’ Dialogue, and a forum on maternal and child health.
