Fuel prices to fall as global prices decline: Home Minister

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said fuel prices in Bangladesh will be reduced proportionately as soon as prices fall in the international market.

Speaking at a rally at Dholai Khal in the capital on Saturday (September 26), he said the government had kept fuel prices unchanged for the first month despite rising global prices to prevent additional hardship for the people.

He said the latest adjustment was kept to a minimum to prevent fuel smuggling across the border and maintain consistency with international prices.

The home minister apologised for the temporary hardship and assured people that fuel prices would be reduced in line with the international market once global prices decline.
