Pokémon's 30th anniversary brings a stunning new Mew design

The Pokémon Company has officially unveiled a striking new design for Mew as part of the franchise’s 30th-anniversary celebrations.

The redesigned Mew appears on one of the new Futuristic Rare cards introduced in the Pokémon Trading Card Game’s 30th Anniversary collection. The special card treatment was designed by Japanese artist YOSHIROTTEN to represent the future of the Pokémon TCG.

Mew ex and Mewtwo ex are currently the only two cards featuring the new rarity. The cards are reportedly difficult to pull from packs, making them highly sought-after among collectors.

The new Mew design joins several other special releases planned for Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, including a series featuring 30 different Pikachu cards and the previously teased RGB Mew cards.

The anniversary celebrations are expected to continue throughout 2026, with more products, including an Ultra Premium Collection, scheduled to be released later in the year.
