Police to be rewarded for arresting 'Fascist' associates: Home Minister

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has instructed police to use intelligence resources to bring what he described as 'fascist associates' of the banned Awami League to justice, saying officers who play a role in their arrest will be rewarded.
He made the announcement at the Police Week 2026 medal presentation ceremony at 11AM on Saturday (September 26).
The minister said police should make effective use of their intelligence capabilities to identify and apprehend individuals he described as associates of 'fascist forces' and the Awami League.
“Those who can bring the associates of fascism and Awami forces under the law will be rewarded,” he said, according to local media reports.

Salahuddin Ahmed added that two such individuals had been arrested last week and another was arrested on Friday.
