Man arrested with 40kg of cannabis in Kapasia

Police have arrested a man with 40kg of cannabis in Kapasia, Gazipur.

The arrested man was identified as Ismail.

Police from the Tok Investigation Centre conducted a drive on Friday and arrested him with the drugs.

According to police, the operation was carried out under the direction of the officer-in-charge of Kapasia Police Station and led by Tok Investigation Centre Inspector Md Main Uddin. SI Rafique and other members of the police force took part in the drive.

Police said they recovered 40kg of cannabis from Ismail during the operation.

Police alleged that Ismail is involved in drug trafficking. However, investigators are looking into whether he had been involved in the drug trade for a long time, where the consignment came from and whether others were involved.
